I am a PHD student in Computer Science at SySMA research unit of IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca. I graduated in Computer Science (L-31) in 2018 at the University of Camerino (UNICAM), working on “WebMVA, Collaborative Application for Vulnerability Assessment Analysis”, under the supervision of Professor Marcantoni. I also attended my Master Degree in Computer Science (LM-18) at UNICAM and in 2020 I graduated cum laude. My Master Thesis was a research concerned the optimization of Ethereum smart contracts, in terms of efficiency and I was supervisioned by Prof. Re, Marcantoni and Morichetta. During my Academic years I had the opportunity to give training lessons for “Internet, Network and Security” course held by Professor Marcantoni to the 2nd-year-students of the Department of Computer Science (L31).

Research Area

I am interested in cybersecurity and distributed systems. For this reason I focused both my thesis on the concept of vulnerability. In my former work I developed a framework that allowed to concretely visualize and analyze how vulnerabilities could cause adverse events which can also compromise a system, a network, an application and even a protocol. The latter thesis covered the optimization of Ethereum smart contracts in terms of efficiency. In particular, the goal of the research was improving vulnerability detection of a static analysis framework adding specific detectors that enable the gas-saving optimization of the targeted contract.
